Fishing Report 6/28/24

Hard to believe we are preparing to flip the calendar to July! As the summer weather is changing, the bite has also been changing! There are still plenty of walleye up in the shallow weeds, but we are starting to hear majority of reports of fisherman having the best luck in 20-30 feet of water on Big Pine, Little Pine, Rush, Star, Otter tail, and other local lakes. Shoreline breaks, points, and mid-lake humps have been producing best. A wide variety of techniques are working, including lindy rigs with leeches, crawlers or minnows, bottom bouncer with a spinner, or Jig Raps. We are also hearing great reports of fisherman having success pulling crankbaits in 10-15 FOW on the shoreline breaks. This bite will continue to produce into the summer.

Bluegills and crappies have finished up the spawning cycle, and now can be found in 8-15 feet of water on Big Pine, Rush, Star, Ottertail, Marion, and many other local lakes. Casting small jigs with plastics, minnows, or worms has been producing, as well as a simple slip bobber with a small leech , minnow , or worm. Shallow mid-lake humps or flats with cabbage weed have been the best! Bass and Northern Pike are also plentiful when you can get on the weed line, and are ready to put up a fight!

We are sitting GREAT on bait right now, and are looking forward to a busy weekend as we head into the week of the Fourth of July. We will be open through the Fourth Of July, so make sure to check out Facebook page for sales and our hours throughout the week.

Happy Fishing Everybody, and we hope you enjoy a safe Fourth of July Week with your friends and family!
